Niko, le petit renne, vit avec sa maman et toute la tribu dans la paisible Vallée des rennes. En secret, Niko ne rêve que d'une chose : rencontrer son père, membre de la légendaire Brigade du Père Noël. Pour cela, le petit renne s'entraîne sans cesse à voler afin de rejoindre le village du Père Noël...Malheureusement ses efforts sont vains. Il décide alors de partir à pied à la recherche de ce papa-héros. Il est accompagné dans son périple par son ami Julius, petit écureuil volant. En chemin, ils vont faire la connaissance de Wilma, jeune belette délurée qui sera leur guide jusqu'aux Montagnes du Père Noël... C'est sans compter sur la meute de loups, commandée par l'effrayant Loucifer, qui n'a qu'une ambition : remplacer Le Père Noël. Niko devra alors faire preuve de beaucoup de courage pour accomplir son rêve et ainsi peut-être retrouver son père...

Parikka, the actor once called the Funniest Man in Finland, and his troupe are about to be executed for the atrocities committed during the Civil War in Finland. Jaeger Lieutenant Nyborg, an admirer of Parikka, suspects a definite miscarriage of justice. He wants to save the actors. The forthcoming visit of the German General von der Goltz to the prison island provides him with a suitable opportunity. Nyborg suggests that the actors prepare a comical performance for the visitor and not be shot. Instead, they will be given a new trial. Preparing a comedy in the horrible circumstances, in the midst of hunger and death, seems quite an overwhelming task. Only a handful of real actors are still alive, the rest of the troupe consists of stagehands. Parikka has to use all his inventive skills to be able to produce something funny.
